Nichole Davis

Nichole, or 'Miss Nic' as she is affectionately known around the studios, is a passionate, dedicated teacher and studio principal. She is driven to make her students feel valued and capable.

 

Nichole worked as a freelance teacher through out most of her professional dance career. In 1994 she took the plunge to pursue her dream of opening her own dance school. In 2013 her dream was fully realised when the business had gained enough momentum to expand into our home here in Thornbury, Niche Dance Studios. Nichole believes that you should never stop learning and constantly strives to expand her experiences and knowledge base. She currently holds Licentiate Cecchetti qualifications in classical ballet and has completed Part A of the revered Enrico Cecchetti Diploma. Through out her career Nichole has, and continues to travel Australia guest teaching and adjudicating eisteddfods. Her expertise is sought by many organisations and studios,including the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, to examine and assess students.

Nichole's dance school and students have won many aggregates, awards, championships and scholarships across all genres of dance. Ex students are currently performing in professional theatre shows and international ballet companies. Most recently Nichole has worked for Cecchetti Ballet Victoria conducting the audition classes for esteemed adjudicators Colin Peasley OAM, Megan Connelly, Simon Dow, Brooke Lockett and Amy Harris. In 2020 she began a three year position on the Victorian committee for the Cecchetti organisation. 

 

Nichole expanded her performing experience to include choreography and dance direction for television. Fergus McPhail screened on Network Ten. She was commissioned to choreograph a mini ballet for the television show Holly’s Heroes, she was also employed to coach the actors for various roles. Her students were employed to appear in the two shows. Holly’s Heroes screened on Channel Nine and may also be seen on Nickelodeon.  She has also been employed as the dance director for Kmart television commerials. Nichole’s first professional job was as a Bluebird for the AFL Club Carlton. Since then she has performed in an impressive array of mediums spanning all aspects of the entertainment industry. Her television credits include numerous appearances on Hey, Hey, it's Saturday, The Midday Show, with Mike Walsh, Ray Martin and Kerry Anne Kennerley, The Factory and Countdown. Nichole has appeared in many theatre restaurant shows including Rembrandt's and the Dragon Fly, she also undertook the role of Dance Captain for both venues. As well as cheerleading for the Carlton Football Club, Nichole was a cheerleader for the Melbourne Tigers Basketball Team, headed by Andrew Gaze. She has appeared in numerous television commercials and print catalogues as well as corporate shows for many famous companies including Ford, Ripcurl, Holden, Krisar, Toyota, Mary Kay, Mazda, Amway and was involved in two national tours for Adidas including the Australia wide launch of the athletes uniforms for the Barcelona Olympia. Her stage credits include the role of Jocasta in La Belle Helene, Victorian State Opera at Melbourne’s Art Center, State Theatre.
